Antonio can’t hit a barn door and cresswell with some awful defending to concede
Not really many surprises there

That was embarrassing from Antonio, he's not good a one on ones with the keeper is he?
Thought Ashby looked good, good shot leading up to the 2nd goal.
I liked Nevers in the other game, nice control, both feet and some good attempts.

Ye gods Antonio clean through and actually managed to completely miss the round thing with only the keeper to beat. Then fell over. Embarrassing for him.

Thought Chesters was good last night. Looked tidy on the ball and positive going forward.

Coventry and Downes did ok in the middle without being spectacular.

Me and my mate (both West Ham) was sitting with his brother-in-law in the Ipswich end and gave him some grief when their no.10 missed a clear-cut one-on-one with Fabianski, scraping the post in the process. But Antonio went one better in the second half by having an equally glaring opportunity except with his chance he managed to get so tangled in his own legs he completely missed the ball. It was embarassing.

Still, it's only pre-season. Loads of time sharpen up it's just a shame that this is the type of performance we were used to seeing n the second half of last season.

Oh man, just watched those brief highlights, bottled it for the goal and got monstered another time after that.

Re: Ipswich V West Ham
Sounds like Cresswell got monstered at the back post again - who saw that coming?

We must get another LB in. I like the bloke but he's become such a weak link it's ridiculous.

Re: Ipswich V West Ham
I'm more concerned with Cresswell than Antonio watching that.

Totally agree fraser I was at the game with my son and said the same !!! We badly need a decent striker.

For a pre-season friendly though I thought it was a decent game with our support very vocal as ever.

Cheers fella, I also think that Portman Road was a good place to start for him, familiar surroundings etc

Re: Ipswich V West Ham
LB,

Grew into it.

He was a bit giddy at first, his first action was a late tackle that only went unpunished because it was a friendly but he grew into it.

Going to do the right thing and compare him to the player he replaces, Kral, I saw more movement, hunger and ability from Downes thant I saw from Kral all last Season.

He just has to settle and not try too hard, this is his dream move and he started like a puppy on a sugar high, but that can be coached.

Antonio is impossible to replace. How are we going to find that illusive striker that misses so many one on ones?
